Sutton’s own Gate Inn wins Regional Pubs in Blooam Award
Andrew Mitchell drew a pint at the Gate Inn pub on Mill Street to congratulate the owners on winning the prestigious Regional Pubs in Bloom award. Joined by Councillor Ewan Mackey, Andrew was shown the award-winning displays, and pulled a ‘perfect pint’ before hearing about the history of the building – previously the Toll House, then renamed “The Case is Altered”, now reborn as the Gate Inn.
The award recognises outstanding floral displays, and an innovative approach to decoration.
Andrew Mitchell said “I have thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon here, and appreciate the work the pub does not only in serving my constituents, but ensuring that Sutton is on the map for pub aficionados everywhere”.
