Frontiers of Royal Town confirmed in Parliamentary boundary decision

Andrew Mitchell, the Royal Town’s Member of Parliament, has reacted with delight to the decision by the Parliamentary Boundary Commission to leave the Sutton Coldfield constituency boundaries as they currently are.

Andrew Mitchell said today "I am glad that the Parliamentary Boundary Commission has decided not to tamper with the ancient boundaries of the Royal Town as they did on the last occasion of the review.”

“On that occasion very strong resistance within the Town led to the proposals being overturned - one of the very few changes made by the National Boundary Commission at the time.”

Andrew Mitchell said that he would strongly support the Boundary Commission proposals which will reduce the number of Parliamentary seats from 650 to 600.
