Andrew Mitchell MP visits community hub Harvest Fields Centre

The Royal Town’s MP Andrew Mitchell has met with the team at Harvest Fields Centre, an innovative working with its sister Charity (QH), which owns and manages 46 rented houses on the Harvest Fields development in Royal Sutton Coldfield.

Archie Gilmour, who founded Harvest Field Homes hoped to build a community. This community consists of a six-acre park, together with the Harvest Fields Centre – a multi-purpose building serving the needs of the new community. Day to day the centre hosts meetings and training whilst outside working hours it is home to an array of community activities.

The not for profit organisation reinvests every penny that is made from corporate conferences and meetings into keeping the building open as a thriving community centre. A range of activities are offered to the people of the Royal Town, including fitness classes, dancing, concerts and even wreath making – a popular choice during the festive period.

Craig Walford, General Manager of Harvest Fields Centre said “In the summer of 2017 my wife Stacey and I moved into the local community and are here to bring Archie’s vision to fulfilment. I want everyone to know about this place and what it stands for.’

Andrew Mitchell said of his visit, ‘Harvest Fields Centre is inspirational, working to bring the community together through a range of activities whilst also assisting vulnerable families privately rent or own their own homes via Harvest Field Homes. The work that Craig and the team do is a significant contribution to our local community.’
