Andrew Mitchell MP pays tribute to Royal Sutton Coldfield’s service men and women on Remembrance Sunday

Andrew Mitchell MP joined hundreds of the Royal Town’s residents in paying tribute to the service men and women from the town as well as the rest of the UK at the official Remembrance Day ceremony.

The Royal British Legion parade marched from King Edward Square to Holy Trinity Parish Church where it joined local residents for the Remembrance Service. The Last Post followed by two minutes silence and Reveille took place in the Church. The Parade then returned to King Edward Square for the Laying of Wreaths at the War Memorial

Andrew Mitchell said: “I am always proud to be able to pay my respects to the Fallen and those brave men and women from all walks of life who gave their lives to protect our freedom and liberty. This year as previously we saw a huge number of young people from the Royal Town, turn out in uniform for the Remembrance Day Parade. Later this year I will also attend the 100th Anniversary of Battle of Cambrai being held in France by my old Regiment 1 Royal Tank, with whom I served.”
