Andrew Mitchell MP, guest speaker at Chambers of Commerce Breakfast with Royal Town businesses

Andrew Mitchell MP was the guest speaker at the Sutton Coldfield Chambers of Commerce Speaker’s Breakfast and delivered the keynote speech.

The breakfast also presented local businesses with the platform to have their views heard and a chance to gain knowledge from other businesses and their experiences on relevant business issues and current affairs.

Among the topics discussed was the need to be open and proud about the benefits of free trade. Mr Mitchell also spoke of the opportunities that Brexit would bring, both locally and nationally, and the need to implement a trade policy that serves the whole country, which includes small businesses, following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

Following the breakfast, Mr Mitchell said: “The Sutton Coldfield Chambers of Commerce marked its first anniversary last September and continues to grow both in terms of quality and ambition.

“Local businesses are the backbone of Sutton Coldfield’s economy and at a time where the Royal Town is really beginning to carve its own identity from Greater Birmingham, it is important that the local business community has a real say on future policy-making.”
